Indoor Bike Trainer Session (Virtual)
Weekly indoor bike trainer sessions as a virtual class via ZOOM from the comfort of your own pain cave at home. These sessions will generally be held every Saturday morning unless moved to Sunday morning to accommodate good outdoor riding weather or other events. Lori will post the ZOOM ID/PW info each week on our Facebook page.
Coach Pete will plan the bike workout and upload the Garmin / Zwift files to FB Page and / or this space each Friday. NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD OR DO ANYTHING WITH THESE FILES TO PARTICIPATE!
These workouts are based on your personal workout zones - either Power or HR or RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion). If you have not done a "baseline" bike test recently, it will be best to use RPE at first. These workouts will be a lot of z2 - z3 (base miles effort) and will include climbing in hard gears/slow cadence, spinning in easy gears/hi cadence, short hard pushes into z4 and z5. During the ride Coach (or ride leader) will call out the RPE Zone you should be in for the current interval and the relative cadence effort.
The length of each session will start out at about 1 hour in December and eventually lengthen to 2+ hours by the end of March. You can do as much as you want each week. The idea is to create some consistency so you are ready to ride outdoors come April.

This is a great opportunity for any newbies to learn how to set up and use your trainer as well as do trainer workouts. The more work you do in the offseason, the more success in your race season !
